Directions
By train:
Follow the signs "Bahn/Railway" to the ticket counters and/or ticket machines and take the escalator down to the train platforms. Trains to the city center leave approx. every 10 minutes and it takes about 10 minutes to reach the main station (Zürich "Hauptbahnhof" or "HB").
By tram:
Follow the signs "Tram/Tramway" to the tram platforms and take Tram 10 (direction "Bahnhofplatz/HB" ) to the stop "Haldenegg". Trams to the city center leave approx. every 10 minutes and it takes about 25 minutes to reach the stop. From there, continue walking in the direction of travel for about 120m, keeping to the right. You will then find the IFW building on your right.
Public transport tickets:
You will find instructions in English on the ticket machines. A ticket from the airport to Zurich city is valid for 1 hour for all forms of public transport to, as well as within, the city. If you plan to stay a full day, choose the day ticket, which is valid 24 hours.
From the tram stop "Bahnhofstrasse/HB", take Tram 7 (direction "Bahnhof Stettbach") to "Haldenegg". You will find the IFW building right next to the stop.
Alternatively, you can take Tram 10 (direction "Zürich Flughafen") from the tram stop "Bahnhofplatz/HB" to the stop "Haldenegg". From there, continue walking in the opposite direction of travel for about 120m, keeping to the right. You will then find the IFW building on your right.
Both trams leave approx. every 7 minutes, and it takes about 4 mintues to reach "Haldenegg".
Public transport tickets:
You will find instructions in English on the ticket machines. A ticket for Zurich city (zone 110) is valid for 1 hour for all forms of public transport within the city. If you plan to stay a full day, choose the day ticket, which is valid 24 hours.
